About The Book

“If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito in the room,” the Dalai Lama once said. Then, meet Grace Wisher, a real 13-year-old indentured servant in the early 1800s in Maryland. One might think her unimportant. Indeed, Grace made a significant
contribution to the creation of the American flag—the very flag that inspired the Star-Spangled Banner.

Fast-forward to 2022, USA. In this time of tremendous national upheaval, Grace and the Flag weaves themes of women’s rights, racial justice and equality together in an uplifting voice for minority children and all of us.
