A Word From the Cricket

Greetings!

Thanks for visiting our website. We’re excited to share with you a little bit about our company. Cricket Cottage Publishing, LLC is committed to telling high quality stories that are entertaining, exciting, educational, and just plain good, and to sharing useful information that will enrich our readers’ lives. We were founded in 2012 by Andrew and Jo Ann Robinson in Orlando, Florida. We were then a micro-publishing company specializing in children’s literature. In January 2016, Andrew and Jo Ann transitioned the company over to Justice & Chaos Entertainment, LLC, but continue their association with the company. With new management in place, Cricket Cottage is expanding its focus to include young adult and adult fiction and other genres, and will soon start accepting new submissions. We are also looking to bring about some new and exciting initiatives in the near term.
I don’t want to spill the beans before it’s time, so check back on our website often as we expect changes to come fast and furious. For now, we invite you to peruse our site and check out our authors and their books. If you see something you like, let us hear from you. And, if you need a speaker or presenter, we’re very happy to help arrange readings and book signings with our authors. Click the corresponding tabs on our home page. Editor's Corner

The When, What, and Why of Editing

In the publishing world, most manuscripts, magazine submissions, or journal articles will be proofed by an editor. Editing is like the last look in the mirror before you ‘walk down the aisle’. You are anxious to take the walk, but it is always wise to take a final look and tend to those tiny details that can make a large difference when you look back in retrospect. But the mention of the word ‘editor’ can produce a range of reactions in the writers, especially the new writer who is unfamiliar with the editing process. Even seasoned writers are sometimes reluctant to give their ‘baby’ over to a stranger (the Editor).
